Paige gives a talk

Paige gave a talk on Sunday. Last week when she got the assignment she was so excited. Upon arriving home she immediatly began illustrating and then writing her talk. It said this is my family getting into the car. This is us going inside. This is my family having family home evening and then this is my family learning about Christ. It was very cute and she saved it all week for Sunday. Mom however felt that her talk should be a little longer so Paige helped pick another topic. Being Thankfull. She then spent over an hour drawing pictures she was thankfull for.

Her talk went like this:

In the Book of Mormon King Benjamin said: "O how ye ought to thank your heavenly King!" We should thank our Heavenly Father for many things:


For our homes.

For the food we have to eat (I think in this picture there are grapes, a banana and 2 pizzas)

For the animals

For the church

For the beautiful world

For our families and friends

We should thank our Heavenly Father for all our blessings when we say our prayers. I say these things .....

Paige did a great job on her talk, she spoke clearly and wasn't scared at all. We were so proud of her.

Here's my latest attempt at being crafty.

I went to Gardner Village with my mom and sister and we saw some cute magnets. I was tempted to buy one but it was 5$ and I thought that I could probably make one for cheaper. So, several months later I did it. I think they turned about pretty good. It was quick and easy to do and they look great on our big magnet board in the basement :)

Ugh, we've been attacked!!!

Brock got the CHICKEN POX. We were not very happy about it. Brock was pretty miserable for a day and especially one night. He spent hours in the bathtub soothing his itches. He got it the worst on his back. Our neighbors had it first and I thought that it was a fluke and we were safe. I guess not. All of the kids have been immunized, but Brock got it anyway. So far, so good, with the rest of the gang. I don't really think they will get it, but I never thought Brock would either. It seems to be going around. Several kids at school have had it and also our doctor's son had it. I guess it's just one of those things that happens in life. The cutest thing about it, was the night we found out, Brock was crying in bed when I went to tuck him in. I thought he was just sad about being itchy, but when I asked him he said he was just sad because he wouldn't be able to see Ethan pass the sacrament for the first time. He said that Ethan's first time would be the most special. I told him that Ethan would be passing for several years to come and that I would be missing his first time too. I think that helped a little, at least he wasn't alone in missig it.

Ethan is a deacon

On March 1st Ethan was ordained a deacon. We are so happy that he is worthy and willing to hold the priesthood. He was lucky to have 3 sets of granparents there (Jeff's parents snuck out before the picture was taken).

Ethan is 12!!!

Jeff and I can't believe we are old enough to have a 12 year old son. He has grown and changed so much these, way too fast, 12 years. I am so proud of Ethan and the wonderful example he is to his younger siblings and those around him. He is very bright and is a voracious reader. He keeps me on my toes, literally, he is only about 3 inches shorter than me. Ethan wanted a carrot cake this year, but I didn't think the other kids would like that so much, so we went with his second choice, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I made him the cake he wanted but I didn't do so great on candles. I only had one. Thankfully it wasn't pink.

We love to see the Temple

One Tuesday morning we had a family dentist appointment. Since we would be taking the kids out of school for the morning we figured we might as well play hookie the rest of the day and go visit the new Draper Temple. We had a great time. Grandma Ludlow even got to come with us.
