Ogden Raptors

Take me out to the ball game ......

For their summer work party this year RC Willey treated us to dinner and a baseball game. Ethan was bummed that he missed it, but he was having a blast at scout camp. Brock, Hayley and Paige thought it was great having their own huge cup of soda (they usually have to share or drink water) and bag of chips.

Brock was happy to share the day with our neighbor and friend, Targhee.

Fourth of July

For the Fourth we got to have 2 barbeques. Yum, yum. With the Ludlows, the girls got to help shuck the corn and Paige enjoyed being reunite with Abby.

That night we had some fun fireworks with our neighbors.

Jeff and Ethan joined in the fun.

The sparklers were a hit.

The kids appear to being trying to set something very interesting on fire. I'm not really sure if I like this.

Even though a good time was had by all, I couldn't help but think about all the money that we burned with those piddley fireworks. (it's all for the kids, it's all for the kids, it's all for the kids)

Sleep? - over

This summer we invited our cousin Abby for a sleepover. There were lots of giggles, smiles, songs, and polly pockets.

While she was here we hit the Syracuse City Parade with lots of our friends. Abby informed us that this was her first parade. She loved getting the candy that was thrown out and she even chased down one float until they gave her an otter pop.

After the parade we got to slip and slide with some neighbors. We had such a fun time with Abby. We will definately have more sleepovers in the future.

Reunion #1

We went to the Meibos Family reunion in Joseph Utah. We had a great time, complete with a BYU family picture.

One of our favorite things to do was to go to the Manti Pagent. On our way home Ethan said "Who else thought that was totally awesome?" It was great to see my tween have a good spiritual experience that he will remember.

We also loved the talent show where Hayley and Paige worked the hula hoops and playing rock band as a family. Paige kept us on beat.

Buzzzzzzz Cut

Jeff and I were out buying trees and our neighbor gave Brock a hair cut along with all of his boys. Brock was very excited about looking like his "twin" Targhee. He also loved the fact that he no longer had to fix his hair anymore, just wash and go. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess if he's happy then I'm happy.

Ethan is a sixth grade graduate

On Friday our family got to attend Ethan's sixth grade graduation. I still can't believe I have a kid that old. Our camera doesn't zoom so great. He's the tall kid with the grad hat on.

Goodbye Lakeside Elementary!! Ethan is ready for junior high.

Jeff's Tri

May 30th Jeff completed his fourth sprint triathalon. We packed up the kids and headed to Salem Utah for this latest endeavor.

Jeff setting up his gear prior to his race.

Here is Brock trying to help his dad get rid of his pre-race jitters.

Here is Jeff coming out of the water. He was too fast on his bike we couldn't get a picture of him doing that.

The kids had a great time running with him just before the finish.

Jeff had a great time this year. He improved on his time quite a bit. We are soo proud of him.

I don't know who was more wiped out, Jeff or the girls (I think probably the girls).

Weeding

One beautiful Saturday I came home from a bike ride ready to get some work done. So, I turned into a slave driver and dragged the kids outside. At first they were eager and willing to help, they helped grab shovels and gloves. After a short time, I heard complaints of it being too hot, and taking too long. They began to pay more attention to the bugs around the yard then to the weeds (and if you know my kids, then you know that can be very consuming).

All their hard work really wiped them out.

Their favorite part was the otter pops afterwards.

Smile!!

We got to spend some time at Grandma and Grandpa's house and the girls wanted to have a photo shoot. Hayley is way into climbing trees so she talked the other girls into joining her up there. Our cousin Abby was a little less comfortable so high off the ground.

Skating Fun!!

We got to go to a fun skate night for the school. The kids had so much fun on their scooters and playing games. Ethan and Dad were at Young Men's. I, of course, forgot my camera so here are some after pictures. One of the games Paige played was that grabby game that no one ever wins. You know the kind where there are a bunch of toys in there and you move that arm where you want it and then it opens up and drops and then closes. Then you get to see if you grabbed a toy. Well, Paige got a toy. She calls it her Hello Kitty although, it doesn't really look like Hello Kitty. I actually really dislike stuffed animals and I don't think this one is cute at all, but she is really excited about it. Hmm, I wonder how long I have to wait before I can send it to DI. It was fun to win something at one of those games though.

Easter

We spent Easter at Grandma and Grandpa's this year. Aunt Kristy and Uncle Tom were blessing baby Alice early Sunday morning so we decided to spend the night. Paige and Hayley were in their new Easter dresses from Grandma Meibos and the boys looked good too.

After church we got to see what the easter bunny left us. Here are the kids lined up for the hunt.

While running after eggs Paige slipped in her pretty white shoes and got a big scrape on her leg.

She was all smiles later. Here she is with Hayley and her cousin Abby.

We had a very nice, enjoyable Easter with family.

Spring Break

For fun during spring break we decided to head town south to the good ole' BYU. We had lots of fun. They had an exhibit and the Art Museum by Walter Wicks the guy who makes those fun I Spy books. I didn't realize he actually made models for all the pictures that are in his books. It was really cool to see the things he was able to do. He is very talented.

We also went to the Eyring Science Center and checked out their fun exhibits. We got to eat at the Wilk and then got ice cream cones at the Creamery.

Ethan and Brock helped keep their cousin Sophie moving on campus.

Soccer season is upon us!

Soccer has begun and we have it 4 days a week. It keeps us very busy. The kids haven't had many games yet because it has been so coooold! Here are the kids taking team pictures while freezing their tushies off (Brock's photographer said "think Hawaii")

On your marks, get set, go!!!

Brock was able to compete in our ward's pinewood derby this year. I don't know who was more excited Brock or his dad. Brock won the prize for the most aerodynamic car, we don't get too creative at our house, luckily we found a gorilla sticker and a number 7. Brock also won first place in the race. He was very proud of this. Needless to say Jeff was happy about it too. Jeff had to work that night and had left work to catch the races. He got going a little late and called me for the play by play. He missed all the main racing but got there just in time to see a couple races and take the glory. He proudly told me he's two for two now (Ethan's car took first place a few years ago). Brock really enjoyed being able to work on his car with his dad.

It's tramp time!!

A few weeks ago we decided it was time to put the trampoline back up and get the kids outside. We did it for family night and it was pretty late by the time we finished. I hope the neighbors didn't mind out late night jump.
