Gooooaaaalllll!!!

Brock and Paige had a great soccer season this fall. However, Paige is not going to be signing up for soccer again anytime soon. While she did great, she didn't have a real big interest in the game. She didn't care if her team won and after a few games didn't care to go to those anymore either. On the flip side, Brock loved soccer. His team never had a loss. He will play again this spring.

Paige turns 6!!

My baby is growing up!! I can't believe that Paige is 6 now. It seems like she was born yesterday. Now that all the kids are in school, our family is shifting to a new phase of life. No more little ones in our house with diapers. We all get to be big now, whether we like it or not. Paige is enjoying being older, but she still likes to be the baby of the house. We are thankful to have her in our family.

Paige had a fun little party with some cute friends.

LOTOJA

So, Jeff had this crazy idea. He decided that since he enjoyed biking he would ride 206 miles in one day!! After training all summer, Jeff had real doubts about whether or not he could complete this, especially after riding a killer hundred miles in August and barely making it home. His doubt, made me doubt, and worry about him on this race. And if you know me, then you know I can worry. Jeff did a fabulous job and was able to complete all 206 miles!! I was so proud of him. He finished in just 12 hours and 23 minutes. I was his support crew and at each stop he put on a smiling face so I wouldn't know how hard it was for him (I think that it was very considerate of him to do that). He is my superman!!

Here is Jeff at the end of the race trying to smile for me right after he finished.

As his support crew I was in the car a very long time following him from stop to stop. I would have been one huge stress case if it hadn't been for my good friend Monique, driving and helping me chill out. We were even able to meet up with some bball friends the next day.

Ramp it Up!!

We discovered in August (it was happening in June and July too) that Weber County has a ramp it up program in the summer. On Saturdays they give free admission to different locations in the County. So, during the month of August we made sure to participate as much as possible. We were able to do fun things like visit the Treehouse Museum, swim, go to the Ott Planetarium, visit the Union Station Museum (where Hayley got stung by a wasp), catch a movie at the Egyptian Theatre (they gave us free drinks and popcorn while we watched "Night at the Museum 2", and go to the Eccles Dinosaur Park. We will definately take more advantage of this program next year.

Brock is 10!!!!

My little boy is 10 now (so, I guess he's not so little any more). We celebrated by hitting the bowling alley and then a little game of laser tag.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

All of Jeff's siblings were able to join us for our trip to Idaho, except his sister Lori and her family. We were glad we could see them a week later here in Utah. We enjoyed going through the Oquirrh Temple open house with them.

Reunion #2

At the end of July we went to a reunion for the Payne side of the family by Couer d'Alane Idaho. We stayed at the Stoneridge Resort. We were able to do lots of fun things, play tennis, basketball, raquetball, put put, swim, go for walks and play games with aunts, uncles and cousins.

In Couer d'Alane there is a fun wood park that we call "the pirate park". The girls had a blast posing for pictures there. "Hey mom, take a picture of me doing this." "Hey mom, take a picture of me and Hayley over here"

Everytime we go, we have to get the kids dizzy on the tire swing. You are always asking for punishment when you hop on one those swings.

Jeff and the kids also had fun playing around in the lake.

We had a great time in Idaho, but I think the kids absolute favorite part was catching the toads at dusk.

Here is Paige just begging to take one on our short 12 hour drive back home to Utah. They all would have loved to keep one as a pet, but that would go against mom's strict rule of no pets in the house (they promised that I wouldn't have to take care of them). It was easier than you might think to say no to that face this time.

Ogden Raptors

Take me out to the ball game ......

For their summer work party this year RC Willey treated us to dinner and a baseball game. Ethan was bummed that he missed it, but he was having a blast at scout camp. Brock, Hayley and Paige thought it was great having their own huge cup of soda (they usually have to share or drink water) and bag of chips.

Brock was happy to share the day with our neighbor and friend, Targhee.

Fourth of July

For the Fourth we got to have 2 barbeques. Yum, yum. With the Ludlows, the girls got to help shuck the corn and Paige enjoyed being reunite with Abby.

That night we had some fun fireworks with our neighbors.

Jeff and Ethan joined in the fun.

The sparklers were a hit.

The kids appear to being trying to set something very interesting on fire. I'm not really sure if I like this.

Even though a good time was had by all, I couldn't help but think about all the money that we burned with those piddley fireworks. (it's all for the kids, it's all for the kids, it's all for the kids)

Sleep? - over

This summer we invited our cousin Abby for a sleepover. There were lots of giggles, smiles, songs, and polly pockets.

While she was here we hit the Syracuse City Parade with lots of our friends. Abby informed us that this was her first parade. She loved getting the candy that was thrown out and she even chased down one float until they gave her an otter pop.

After the parade we got to slip and slide with some neighbors. We had such a fun time with Abby. We will definately have more sleepovers in the future.

Reunion #1

We went to the Meibos Family reunion in Joseph Utah. We had a great time, complete with a BYU family picture.

One of our favorite things to do was to go to the Manti Pagent. On our way home Ethan said "Who else thought that was totally awesome?" It was great to see my tween have a good spiritual experience that he will remember.

We also loved the talent show where Hayley and Paige worked the hula hoops and playing rock band as a family. Paige kept us on beat.

Buzzzzzzz Cut

Jeff and I were out buying trees and our neighbor gave Brock a hair cut along with all of his boys. Brock was very excited about looking like his "twin" Targhee. He also loved the fact that he no longer had to fix his hair anymore, just wash and go. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess if he's happy then I'm happy.

Ethan is a sixth grade graduate

On Friday our family got to attend Ethan's sixth grade graduation. I still can't believe I have a kid that old. Our camera doesn't zoom so great. He's the tall kid with the grad hat on.

Goodbye Lakeside Elementary!! Ethan is ready for junior high.

Jeff's Tri

May 30th Jeff completed his fourth sprint triathalon. We packed up the kids and headed to Salem Utah for this latest endeavor.

Jeff setting up his gear prior to his race.

Here is Brock trying to help his dad get rid of his pre-race jitters.

Here is Jeff coming out of the water. He was too fast on his bike we couldn't get a picture of him doing that.

The kids had a great time running with him just before the finish.

Jeff had a great time this year. He improved on his time quite a bit. We are soo proud of him.

I don't know who was more wiped out, Jeff or the girls (I think probably the girls).
